Sony's just announced a brand new tablet, and it's... rather stunning. The hallmark feature is the design, a typically beautiful, minimalist Sony frame that is a mere 6.9mm thick - that's less than the iPad Mini, much less the normal iPad, and just might be the thinnest 10" tablet. Yes, it has a 10" display, with a 1920x1200 resolution, powered by a Qualcomm S4 Pro 1.5GHz quad core processor and accompanied by LTE for 4G internet, and NFC for sharing or activating files or settings by tapping the tablet to them. There's also an 8MP backside illuminated camera, which should be pretty good, but which won't make you look any less ridiculous holding a 10" tablet up to take a picture. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean provides the software, along with Sony's custom skin.
No word on pricing or availability, though it'll come to Japan in the spring in either black or white.
